A unique and clever way to jazz up a traditional apple tart
Make the shortcrust pastry. Roll out and bake 4 tarts.
Wash and cut the apples into thin slices and spread them on a plate, overlapping them. Brush with butter and sugar. Bake for 7 minutes at 200°C. Make a compote with the trimmings and flavour with vanilla.
Fill the tartlets with compote, roll the apple strips to form bunches of roses and place delicately on the compote and sprinkle with brown sugar.
